This event was held on Tuesday, 18th February 2014 in Community Help And Neighbourly Care for Everyone (CHANCE) Community Centre, Rickaby Street, Hendon, Sunderland. The lead Partner for organising this event was Sunderland BME Network Limited.
Publicity was produced as a poster/flyer inviting residents to come along.
A free bowl of broth, along with a free gift bag of items were on offer, as well as free advice.
Age UK Sunderland, Groundwork North East and Northumbria Water participated in the event. Residents from the area were given the opportunity to see leaflets and posters about how Sustainable Sunderland could potentially help them. If they wished, interested people could complete a short referral form to have someone contact them with further information – several of the people who attended completed forms for later follow up with them.
As an attraction to the event visitors were welcomed by drummers outside the main entrance.
Anyone who was interested could have drumming lessons and try out the drums for themselves.
Inside CHANCE there were a range of exhibitors to get people signed up to Sustainable Sunderland as well as enjoy the day with extra information etc.
As part of the food available and free activities Flash the Magician was on hand to create some balloon art for an eager audience.
